From Learnership to Leadership: Investing in Futures at Mineware

At Mineware Consulting, our commitment to transformation goes beyond technology – it includes the people behind it.
This year, we are proud to celebrate a meaningful milestone in our learnership programme. Of the learners who joined us last year through our partnership with Signa Academy, four out of five have now transitioned from learners to permanent employees within the Mineware team. Three of these – Veronica, Tshepang and Siphesihle – were officially appointed on a permanent basis, with Siphesile earning his permanent contract in April 2025.
Typically, our learnership contracts run for 12 months, with learners placed within various divisions while completing structured training. Classes are held at Signa Academy on Tuesdays, with the rest of the week dedicated to practical experience at Mineware. Signa Academy is a SETA and QCTO-accredited expert training provider with over twelve years of experience delivering specialised, work-integrated learnership programmes across South Africa.
What makes this year unique is that, instead of onboarding an entirely new group of 10 first-time learners, we’ve chosen to extend the opportunity for 7 high-performing learners from the previous cohort to remain with us for a second year. This not only deepens their skills and industry exposure but also gives them a strong pathway toward permanent employment by April 2026.
“It’s incredibly exciting to see these young people grow — not just in their roles, but as individuals finding their place in the world of work,” says Venessa Paulsen, Human Resources Lead at Mineware. “We’re proud to follow their journeys, to walk alongside them, and to welcome them into the Mineware family.”
“At Mineware, we code, we build, we innovate — but none of it matters without people who care and grow. To our learners: you’re not just learning the system, you’re becoming part of what drives it forward.” Ian Saker, MD at Mineware Consulting
This initiative forms part of Mineware’s community development and upliftment programme – a long-term investment in the future of South Africa. As a company rooted in the South African mining economy, we remain deeply committed to developing talent, transferring skills, and bringing out the best in the people who will shape the next chapter of our industry.
By investing in people, we help create sustainable change in our industry, in our communities, and in our country.
